Elementary, Middle and High School Age
Young students are very quick to learn and pick up music. By starting young, students have time to develop guitar skills that will give them a lifetime of enjoyment. Students learn correct guitar playing technique, how to read common guitar notation systems, i.e. tablature, chord diagrams, and standard musical notation. The goal of each lesson is to play music and enjoy the skills we have learned during the lesson.
Adult Classical Guitar
The adult classical guitar curriculum is designed for adult beginners who are interested in learning the techniques and repertoire of classical guitar playing. This includes learning to read music, developing correct left and right-hand technique and playing music from the Renaissance through the Modern periods of music. Students will need a nylon string classical guitar.
Scott holds a Master's of Music Education from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. He is a former student of Ronald Pearl. "Scott is very knowledgeable with several degrees in music. His teaching style is tailored to each student whether they be beginner, intermediate, or more advanced. He's flexible with scheduling and never a clock watcher. He enjoys passing along his knowledge and enjoyment of music to his students. He's very friendly and quite easy to get along with and his rates are good too. I've been with him for 6 years now and have enjoyed all of my lessons."
